Whenever we are not certain about the results of an activity, we call it risky. That said, it is,
nonetheless, true that life cannot proceed without us taking on some potentially harmful
tasks. Subsequently, this essay explains that the merits of entering a risky zone, whether in
your work or in your private affairs, are as many as its demerits.

To begin with, in our personal domains, we sometimes put our lives in jeopardy by arguing
with our elders. This course of action indeed makes us doubtful as we can hurt them.
However, many times, making risk taking worthwhile, a benefit is seen that such arguments
lead to conflict resolution. For instance, my friend was fearful of telling his dad about his
being gay. Nevertheless, his father accepted him upon understanding the biology involved.

All the same, personally only, a few risky endeavors are hazardous. To elaborate, on
occasion, young couples run away to get married against their parents’ wishes. They think
that the bold step for love is worth the probable hardships, but, quite often, they fall prey
to poverty itself. To illustrate, in a Punjabi movie titled Love, two deeply-in-love teenagers
commit suicide when they are not able to fend for themselves after having gotten married
far away from their houses.

Work-wise, too, being out on a limb is sometimes advantageous. Today, many individuals
take the courageous step of leaving their jobs and becoming entrepreneurs. Often, in turn,
they end up better. For example, previously, being an employee, I used to make 21,000
rupees monthly with a nine-hour job. Now, by contrast, I teach English independently and
earn thrice the stated figure with as much effort.

Even so, a move of this kind is not always fruitful, and you may ruin your career. Being
victorious in this sort of situation requires mettle. A couple of times, some untalented
workers do this without self-evaluation and become miserable. I know a math teacher who
resigned to do something big and whose life is now a pity.

In conclusion, risking something personally and work-wise can result in stronger
relationships and better careers. Simultaneously, it can prove fatal or back-breaking.
