It is a common observation in organizations today that workers are devoid of soft skills to a very large extent. This essay will explain two reasons and remedies for this issue.
A primary factor that leads to this shortage is excessive workload. That is to say, workers nowadays get too much work to complete in short time spans; thus, they are generally agitated owing to the tiredness and anxiety. Subsequently, these unfavorable qualities make them behave inappropriately. For instance, after having taught for seven hours a day, it used to become difficult for me to remain amiable in our staff meetings.
This source of ill behavior can be dealt with by making realistic work schedules. Employers ought to understand that work-related frustration in their employees is bound to show in their behavior. Hence, if the jobs assigned to employees are not overwhelming, they will, naturally, take care of the office conduct. To illustrate, my brother’s company gives its workers forty-minute breaks after every two hours. Therefore, the positivity and solidarity seen in their office are enviable.
Another major basis for the general workplace intolerance and apathy is the norms of today’s world. To be precise, currently, children are raised with an ideology that humans are bad and manipulative. In order to survive in this world, they are trained to be cold and competitive, which, in turn, shows in their workplace etiquette eventually. For example, children see their fathers give a bribe to secure something, and the seed of negativity is sown in their brains. They start harboring that the world runs on bribery.
That said, should parents let the children know that life is more positive than negative, the young will grow into wise adults. In other words, parents often do not take time out to clarify their practices to children. Whereas on the surface some works seem despicable, they are necessary for the greater good. To exemplify, knowing that the bribe was paid to safeguard the employment of fifteen workers will make kids see the positivity in the situation. They will then get to know that bad deeds are for good ends sometimes. Such a way of thinking will make them affable individuals and adjusting workers.
In conclusion, a badly behaving workforce is a result of overworking and worldly cynicism. They can, however, be made into adjusting colleagues by relieving them of office burdens and explaining the noble goals of wrong acts to them.
