As per such humans, these animals ought to be helped because death must be painful to them, too. Such an example proves that humans can care about animals as much as they look out for other human beings.

Nonetheless, the latter viewpoint has a foundation of practicality. To be precise, today, humans themselves are struggling with so many issues that require more financial inputs. For instance, poverty and malnutrition can be eliminated only if greater financial support is provided by the governments. Hence, using the available funds to save the dying species in place of eradicating the current human predicaments does seem illogical.
