
A few psychology experts are of the opinion that remaining completely inactive for a duration on a daily basis is a method of reducing tension in one’s routine life. This essay partly agrees with such individuals.
A major reason for agreement is epiphanies. That is to say, when a person remains dormant for a length of time, his or her brain gets time to contemplate things. This is not possible otherwise as the human brain is occupied with one or another pursuit. As a result of the free-time introspection, the brain is able to find solutions to various problems. Such solutions otherwise do not come into existence because the brain does not get time and energy to generate them owing to its complete involvement in the completion of regular tasks. For instance, when I was in grade 10, I was bad at math. I went from teacher to teacher in order to understand trigonometry. Nonetheless, nothing was fruitful as my brain did not use to get time to think up its own strategies. However, one day, sitting idle, I had a sudden realization regarding the way to understand the concept.
Nevertheless, a primary basis for disagreement is that such an approach can contribute to anxiety, too. To be precise, the modern world suffers from the bane of excessive competition. As a consequence of it, many people have a philosophy that if they sit free for a moment, they waste time. Now, as per such men and women, wasting time will keep them behind their competitors. Hence, when they sit free, they get even more stressed than they are owing to their work. A case in point is my brother. He sleeps only four hours a day so that he can get plenty of time to work hard. A moment of solitude makes him jittery.
In conclusion, workless time can be an antidote to stress as a person can get sudden solutions to issues. Even so, if he is overly competitive, this remedy is counterproductive.
