There are a few science experts who vouch for contacting advanced extraterrestrial organisms. A few others are of the opinion that this might put humans in jeopardy.

The basis that the former put forth is that we might get a solution to an earthly problem. That is to say, aliens could have developed something that can eliminate an issue that we are struggling with. For instance, they might have a thirty-second cure for cancer, and this cure consists of only one ingredient which is free and abundant on Earth.

Those who are against it support their standpoint with the fear of invasion. In other words, in their opinion, an alien population might use a signal to track us. Thereafter, they might come to Earth to subjugate us. For example, there was an article by a famous scientist, Robert Geller. In it, he mentioned that alien species were looking for a planet for their over-the-limit population. For this purpose, they would kill humans and other Earth species to occupy Earth.

Being a person with little knowledge of this domain, I propose that scientists weigh the benefits and the hazards very cautiously before taking a step further. This is because if aliens are menacing, no remedy will be of any use. Similarly, if there is a chance of any sort of help, then science is meant to make advancements.

In conclusion, aliens might give us something helpful, or they might cause our extinction. Therefore, any type of aid by getting in touch with them should be sought only if they are found to be completely safe.
